From the start he called her beautiful angel. That elusive, faraway look in her eyes betrayed the small smile that just touched the corners of her mouth. Wary and battle worn she carried her regrets like armor, forged in fire and heartache, her halo scratched and tilted yet glowing deep where even her mind couldn’t extinguish the flame. Just a glimmer, a small flash of potential and he was swept away in fantasies of happily ever after, just one more try.
From the start he called her beautiful angel. He came from nowhere, broken and bruised, seeking human connection this warrior of body and soul. Searching for redemption, a hand to hold, bodies pressed one against the other in a fluid motion as they danced for a moment drawn together once under a blue moon.
