Preface . . .

When one thinks of weapons it does not take long to imagine an arsenal of destructive devices. One assumes there will be some pain soon to follow…or worse. For years I held this belief, but words began to take me down a different road. They started to heal parts of my soul that I believed untouchable and unhealable. The more I wrote the more the darkness relented to the light. It was transformative and beautiful in one breath. I was a new man in the process. This is when I discovered that a weapon infused with thoughtful words could be a positive tide in the ocean of life. It was in one of those quiet unassuming moments that I realized that words would be my weapon of choice. I would use the pain and laughter to spell out hope.
