I’m lost in the harmonies
of yesterday’s song filled
with the sounds of birds
chirping during the early
hours of morning to wake
me up, and begin a new day.
For this is the pattern of
springtime weaving in
bold horizons, shielding
my eyes from the storm
brewing in the hornets nest
within the trees above my
hedge.
My window brings me the
light dancing through
comprising wavering banners
of lavender velvet with
its smooth frailties of life.
The loner is the lost dead
to a world forgotten by time.
For his soul has crossed many
channels in my visions of
darkness along the river
to cleanse away soot.
Keys jangle against one
another, clogging every duct
to saturate my soul
in the fires of the burning star.
I have fumbled down broken
roads, and embellished life ever
fruitful in lively colors of food
for thought.
