We never hesitate to spend our money on
the latest overpriced phone
the next trending toy for our children
those shoes all the celebrities are wearing
or the hottest new restaurant down the street
But yet we scowl at the homeless hustling
strike a bargain with local vendors
get impatient with a mother clipping coupons
to buy food for her children to eat
How branded and selfish have we become
that the people who need it the most
are the ones we mistreat and give none
