About the Author

Sarah Lamar King

Creative Talents Unleashed is both thrilled and honored to announce the upcoming release of  My North Star Misled Me by Author Sarah Lamar King.

Sarah Lamar King is California made, moving to Washington early in life, where she currently resides. Born to a musician and a free spirit who weren’t ready to be parents, she was adopted when she was 6 months old. She met her biological father for the first time when she was 23. They remained close until his death on Valentines day 2003. She met her biological mother a handful of times throughout her life, few and far between, as her mother went where the wind and the alcohol took her. These events as well as raising a disabled child, dealing with loss and hopelessness, domestic violence, and walking in others shoes, have all contributed to the pieces she writes.

Sarah began writing poetry in the 3rd grade, her first collection of poetry being called ‘Poems Galore’. There were several times throughout life when she had to stop writing, times when she was silenced by life, was void of feeling, or felt too much to put anything on paper.

She finds solace in the elegiac poetry that she writes today. She began sharing some of her pieces on social media and realized how much feeling her poetry brought about in others, her ultimate goal. Sarah has always wanted to be an author and thanks to Creative Talents Unleashed and their publishing contract it was brought to fruition. “My North Star Misled Me” is her first published book, a long awaited dream come true, in hopes that her words can reach farther than she ever can.

Preface . . .

This book was written to help a person find their internal quarrels in written words. Written words bring about a different perspective. To overcome something, you must be able to see it from a different viewpoint, you must be able to analyze and understand it in order to accept it or move past it. The most important step in the healing process is acknowledgement that what you are feeling is okay to feel, and that you are not alone in those feelings. Get lost in this book and find yourself in it, all at the same time. Emotional clarity.
