I was walking alone
Along a desolate road.
Daydreaming a dream
Sweeter than sweet cream.
When upon my eyes gazed,
Alight in the sun’s rays,
Of a beauty amazed,
To cause a flutter in my rib cage.
I went to speak
But just then her lips turned to a beak,
And a squawking did squeak
From where once was her cheek.
Aghast, as I stood
From the sheer shock, as one should,
I felt surely I would
Feel my heart harden to wood,
But it was then and there
Her wings took to the air,
And a fine feathered flare
Left me standing in stare.
I felt almost a tear,
As she slowly disappeared.
