My Mother says, her eyes are tear-less
when I smile. Though I’m always smiling,
still, I’m so serious when I smile.
She’d say, I look at things too deeply,
even as a child and as a child, I saw
deeper than the wild, that would become
my lifestyle.
She’s grateful I made it out somehow;
I see it in her eyes, she’s proud.
So I breath in deep and smile.
But she doesn’t know that I smile through
the wild because I have the heart of my
mother’s child; so seriously, I smile.
