Teardrops Fall in the Rain by Hugh Dysart

Shed your tears on my shoulder,

give these hands the pain

Let my heart be your shelter,

teardrops fall in the rain

Place your soul in a locket,

hung on a golden chain

Let my love be our shelter,

teardrops fall in the rain

My hand lights a candle,

passion sparks the flame

Let my spirit be our shelter,

teardrops fall in the rain

Quills in tears, written in stone,

vows that shall remain

Let my word be your shelter,

teardrops fall in the rain

Mandolins singing ancient tongues,

melodies for a broken heart

Quarrelling dancers fade away,

bitter lovers fight age old battles

Kingdoms fall, two lovers remain

their teardrops fall in the rain
