Perspectives by Tracy Seiden

He felt broken, questioned his worth. Failed marriages, scattered family, he sits convinced he is somehow not enough to be anyone’s partner in this life, dealing with responsibilities and trying to keep the peace for all. People change, put on faces, true companionship must not exist, not for him. He sits gazing at her across the table thinking how lucky she is not to have felt all this heartache.

She felt broken, questioned her worth. Failed relationships, no family, never married, she sits convinced she is somehow not enough to be anyone’s partner in this life.  Living the majority of her life alone, facing challenges on her own, feeling lost and somehow lacking, handling responsibilities on her own, trying to keep her sanity while jumping when anyone reaches to touch her because it isn’t something that happens very often. True companionship must not exist, not for her.  She sits gazing at him across the table thinking how lucky he is to have family, to have loved and been loved enough to take that step even if it hadn’t been forever.

If only they had enough courage to reach out one more time…
