Up in the world so high
All the clouds in the sky
The birds flying by
Singing their special song
Let’s all sing along
It’s a beautiful world don’t you know
Sun shining bright
Until we say goodnight
Moon says hello
It’s a beautiful world don’t you know.

The power of a poem to tell its own story is something special. “This is how a verse says hello”, so to speak. I’ve had great enjoyment when I had an opportunity to use poetry in my stories. But you can accomplish a similar thing when you have the characters singing a few verses of a simple song.
It’s just one more gift of the Written Word.
