  1. For youth – the world is ever tinted –
In shades of rose and hope,
Too readily set aside when weathered by age.

  2. Glasses

    Magenta glasses on the ground
I pick them up and put them on
    All of a sudden
    the world changes
The sea water turns to sweet nectar
The air fragrant like a poupourri
The bus a magic carpet ride
Even the roaches on the walls
    look beautiful
    like marching soldiers

    I must discard
    these rose colored lenses
    to come to my senses

  3. Glasses

    Oh I must discard
    These magenta glasses
    I found on the street
For they turn the blue sky
    Into dreamy purple
    The water in my glass
    Into sweet nectar
    The air I breathe
    Fragrant like a potpourri
    The bumpy bus
    A magic carpet ride
    The roaches crawling
    On the walls
    Golden brown soldiers
Never knew how the world was
    Through rose-colored lenses
