Have you heard of CTU’s Starving Artist Fund? When Raja Williams realized the publishing industry was lacking in ways to help people who really had a passion for writing, she decided to take on the task of finding a way to help writers fulfill their dreams of publishing their own book. The Starving Artist Fund was born, to help writers not just financially, but also with making the publishing process as easy as possible.

It started with the first anthology she decided to fully fund herself – Love, A Four Letter Word. Poets from around the world, who she interacted with on her social media sites, were kind enough to donate their poems to the cause. The sales from the book enabled her to help author’s publish their own work. Raja’s system has obviously been a very successful one, as she is going 3 years strong with a nice collection of anthologies, as well as a plethora of writers – many who have published more than one book with CTU Publishing Group.

There are 38 writers to choose from; each has a unique style of writing poetry. These writers have a passion for their craft and most don’t do it to be famous or rich, but to genuinely share their own experiences,with the hope that their words may touch lives. With the variety of poetry from each artist, if you find it hard to choose, many have included links to social media sites where you can read their work. Once you find a favorite, show your support by purchasing their work, writing reviews, or even making comments on their social media posts. Use the holiday season as an opportunity to purchase their poetry books as a gift for someone who may enjoy reading them. You can also donate them to schools and libraries if you’re more of the charitable type.

Raja began as a first time poet with her own published book, and her dreams have blossomed beyond her expectation with this huge project she started in 2013. She is incredibly dedicated to help others and works extremely hard to make sure new writers get the help they deserve.
