Memories and Dreams

Let’s not
and say we did
All the past
that has passed
as reality fades to distant memory
A whisper
of what once was
and is no more

Let’s do
but say we didn’t
Memories are what is left
of yesterday
to linger in my mind
and remind me of all that I’ve left behind

Memories
are whispers of things we have done
Dreams
are hints of events yet to come
