Desire ran deep through my veins
So deep, I yearned to be the victor:
To keep you close, regardless of
The devastation of your affair.
Still caught in love’s elaborate snare
Desperate, I wore you like a bruise
Until the day in which I learned
To be happy on my own. Bruise free,
