My sight may continue
to become distorted
and shriveled as I age
but I am learning to see
how easy people give in
to the demands of the world
following the herds of false shepherds
who stand higher on pedestals
that are filled with foundations
of unfortunate souls
I shall not be cloned like these sheep
for I have always been the one
coated with an ebony wool
I have escaped that pasture
to roam free
