Introducing Candace Meredith “Contemplation ~ Imagery, Sound & Form in Lyricism”

Contemplation

Preface . . .

As I sit alone in the room I’m in whether it be the sun porch, my own bedroom or the balcony of the hotel, I sit and write while extracting from within something that feels more profound than the simple function of thinking. Poetry stems from a contemplative moment that resonates deeply within and as I focus on an image, object or idea I turn it over in my thoughts to bring alive that “thing” on the page; in short, I write as I feel in the moment and rarely do I ever want to let it go – so I write it down and I keep that thought with me for as long as I need to so I can sense and feel beyond an ordinary thought.
