One of those weeks
where you wonder
what you did
to deserve this life
to work as hard as you did
and then have to struggle
to be undermined
by those who are supposed
to repair the broken pieces
and the only solution they give
to swallow pills to mask the despair
with the slight chance
you may become a statistic
with side effects
another lost soul
one less mouth to feed
packaging your scraps
to supply the next pawn
