Raja's Insight 
Rachael’s Excellent Adventures
when Rachael was 18 years old
young, broke and foolish
she sat out to see the world
first by hitchhiking all over the US and Canada
and Europe too
she spent a full year
moving from city to city
meeting many people
most were nice
but some were creepy
she had developed
a 6th sense by then
and turned down rides
from people who creeped her out
but she carried a gun
and had to use it
from time to time
a year later
burned out by the constant travel
she called home
she was broke
and tired
and could not face
another month on the road
she returned home
and went to college
but the wanderlust
never left her soul
and she recalled
her trip around the globe
almost every day

Life’s detours had become too overwhelming
Leaving it all behind
She packed up
Looking for a place that didn’t exist
Location unknown
Lost in her mind
Seeking serenity
A place that feels more like home
