I’m Letting Go

Excerpt from our book “Unleashed”

I’m Letting Go

I’m letting go
Of all past pain
Things that have me hurting
Trying to drive me insane
Those who ridiculed me
Beating me down
Not letting me stand my ground
Those who wanted to rape me of my soul
Not letting me have any control
Those who treated me like
I was nothing more than mortal
Those who laughed and rebuttal
Those who felt my existence
Was taking up space
Not wanting me to be a part of the human race
Those who spit in my face
Hoping that the wetness would make my life erase
In haste
Told me that I was a disgrace
My mind replaced
All those lies
Those silly alibis
With the truth
They hated me ’cause they could see the fruit
That I produce
That’s why they wanted to cut me down
They didn’t want it to abound
But my feet have been planted on solid ground
See
I know now that without all of this torture
And pain
My life would have never been the same
It has brought me full circle
And created in me a miracle
It has taught me how to love
It has come from God up above
Through all the darkness
Stress and craziness
My life accumulates
My heart still glows
And illuminates
Even if they wanted to stop me
It’s too late
To seal the fate
’Cause I already know
That will continue to grow
Because I’m letting go
