~ At the Edge ~
(Hit Play for the Spoken version of this poem in link at bottom)
I whispered softly
âTake me to the edgeâ
Just before my eye lids fell
Into the darkened bliss of unconsciousness
Flowing waters
Rushing Fast
Mist sprays my face
I close my eyes
Lick my lips
At the edge of the waterfall
Winds blow
Airplanes fly
My hair frolics in the wind
Way up high
While butterflies take flight in my stomach
At the edge of the sky scrapper
New feelings
Stirring inside
Makes me feel good
My heart takes a leap
A smile forms my lips
At the edge of the feeling of happiness
Eyelids flutter
As sunlight enters
Bathing the room and I with light
In this moment of truth
I am
At the edge of everyday life
