Brenda-Lee Ranta composed her first poem at the age of seven. Throughout her life, she used prose as a means of logging her experiences in a life which has been under ‘constant construction.’
Amazing to her, is that at the age of 58, CTU Publishing Group published her first book, “Myriad of Perceptions,” to be followed by “Allegories – a thirst for connection.” It was for her, a life changing experience, taking her from journal writing to giving her words a life beyond herself. Her two books also were awarded five-star reviews from Readers Favorite.
Brenda-Lee shares her journey with her soul mate, Hugh Dysart, also a published poet, lyricist and musician. They are parents to their collective five children and grandchildren. They live a life dedicated to each other, their kids, pets and their shared artforms.

Chapter 5
The Dance
The New Year was a new beginning for Brandi. She made a concerted effort to start leaving her home, even for short periods of time. Her friend had encouraged her to take part in a very small, intimate Yoga class which was also gave instruction in Sacred Breath Work. It was a privilege to be included in this very sacred and ancient training, which had been brought back from Asia. Brandi committed to a very long home practise of breathing and journaling. She was unprepared for the pain that would surface as a result of this breathing practise. As directed, she took five year increments of her life, journal on five years at a time in conjunction with Pranic breath work and very specific yoga.
She would journal, followed by her many rounds of breath work, feeling the pain rise up to her chest, weeping throughout the breaths. She purged herself of pain from each period of her life, starting with her childhood, where surprisingly, many painful feelings of not having her father arose, feelings of never being enough for people around her, feeling hidden resentments. The unknown feelings kept bubbling up, overcoming her. Simultaneously, Brandi lost weight with every negative emotion she was releasing.
She was in awe of her new body. A new inner strength was rearing its head, ever so slowly. Completing her commitment to the practise, Brandi continued to do the Pranic breath work for months afterward. She was meditating up to seven times daily, focussing on inner peace, self-love, acceptance and freeing herself from anxiety and ‘fear.”
Source of all that is,
God within me.
I see your light in the distance
Calling me to me
like echoes from a past
I can’t quite recall,
yet vaguely familiar,
calling me unto myself
where You have always been
A feeling of frustration with Drew, slowly began to wax within Brandi. She was not angry with him, but rather frustrated with what had become an impossible situation.
He was doing nothing to help himself at all. In her practises, Brandi would say the words, “what I do for myself, I do also for my Beloved.” Spiritually she was doing whatever she could to send him love and strength. He began to end conversations with her by saying, “Please don’t give up on me.”
