What matters the most to me
Is not the lavish things I see
It’s not what society expects of me
It isn’t my failures or faded dreams
What matters the most to me
Are all the little things
Like waking early to watch you sleep
Kissing you gently as you dream
Holding your hand as we cross the street
Seeing the smile on your face as you eat
Your little quirks
The way you sing
What matters the most to me
Is not money or fame
It’s not drama or stupid games
It’s the way you cry
Seeing a red balloon in the sky
The way you dance
Raindrops on your face
The dreams we chase
It’s crystals on the window pane
The songs the coyotes howl
Living in the now
What matters most to me
Is the warm and comfortable bed in which we sleep
The happy moments in memory we keep
A blueberry muffin in the morning
A cup of coffee or spiced tea
The goofiness you love about me
These are just a few things
That matter the most to me
