Inspiration Call: “Acrostic Poetry”, Write the title vertical on the page. It doesn’t necessarily have to be one word or a very short word, just one that you want to get a certain feeling across. Remember, even though acrostic is a different type of poetry, it’s still poetry! They can still have the same poetic devices every other poem has. Add the lines of your poem to the acrostic. Your lines will begin with the corresponding letter of that particular line.
Each line has to relate with each other line, and the acrostic letters must also relate to each other.

    U nsure of what future had ordered.
    R eplay of the past, on a run through,
    P erhaps, she was fated for dim doom.
    R uled and damned, she’d let it all be;
    I nnocent, though, but weary of fighting.
    S uddenly, she was woken by the loving
    E mbrace of one who was truly charming.

    O n time! What a surprise and so sweet.
    N ow, new hope quickly erased all doubt.

    T hat shildy brand was really a dream,
    I nstalled in her head from fretting about.
    M ark her words and watch her proudly
    E nd that era and start on a new journey.
