  1. Monday-

Come to the middle of nowhere
Where no one sees and no one cares
    Alone, with you in nothingness
    Will you meet me there?

  2. old man sits on a bench conteplating the end times

    an old man
    sits on a bench
    in the park

    contemplating the end times
    the chaos of the world
    fades away

    as he contemplates
    his fate
    his impending date
    with the grim reaper

    he sits on the bench
    thinking of the end
    of this time on earth

  3. a young woman
    grew up on the islands
    in far off Barbados
    dreaming that she would
    experience a true winter

    she left her island paradise
    moving to NYC
    just another exiled white Banjang
    far from her native paradise

    the winter came
the snow fell all around her
    delighting her
    as she experience it all
    for the first time

    and she realized
    that it was time
    to go home
    to the islands for good

    the winter while nice
    was just not for her
    she needed to go back
    to her island paradise

  4. Narnia dreams

    I grew up reading
    the Narnia stories
    dreaming nightly
that i was in magical world
    of Narnia

    so much better
    than the grim world
    that we live in

    and I imagined
    walking through that door
    the wardrobe door
that led to the magical land
    of Narnia

and I searched for my own door
    a door to another world
    but never found it
    at all

and so my dreams of Narnia
    faded away
as I confronted the harsh reality
    of this non magical world

  5. the Future outside my window

I am looking out my window
    early in the morning light
    and see that the world
    has been transformed

    I see the future
    coming rapidly at me
    the end times play out

    in front of my window
    wars consume the world
    the world burns up
    and most humans die

    the few remaining
    live on in caves
    deep underground

    as the world turns
    and human civilization
    fades away

    after a few generations
    underground
    the survivors no longer
    know

    the world that they lost
    I turn away
    from the visions
    of the future end times

    and turn to my wife
    determined to get on
    and enjoy the rest
    of my life

  6. Thailand beckons me

    i served in Bangkok
    twenty years ago
    last visited in 2003

    I am so looking forward
    to returning to the land
    where i lost my way

    got caught up
    in the dark decadence
    of Thailand

    this time
    I will explore
    Thailand
    in all its splendor

    enjoying the food
    the sights the sounds
    the historical culture

    and avoid
    being sucked back down
    the rabbit hole
    of drinking and decadence
    that overwhelmed me
    before

  7. Amanda the Witch

    Amanda the witch
is looking at her books of spells
    looking for a spell
    that will allow the world

    to heal the madness
    all around us
    the Trumpian nightmares
that has taken over the world

Amanda lives in an alternative world
    and looks on in horror
    at our world

    deeply troubled
she searches for the perfect spell
    that will send Trump
and his minions back to hell

    she sighed
    knowing that her magic
    may not work
    in the land

    she prepares to leave
    and come to our world
    to fight the demons
that have taken over our world

  8. Inspiration Call: View From A Window

The playful part of ourselves is often throttled as we become immersed in the more serious aspects of life and responsibility. Can you remember looking up to the clouds and finding dogs or cats, or maybe even, finding fairies sitting along a river’s brook as you walked in the woods? This poem suggests incorporating imagination into our daily lives might allow us to keep childhood simplicity and joy within our grasps.

    View From A Window

    Standing by my window sill
i squint and rub my eyes in disbelief
for what i think i might see
is really quite a big deal.

Floating in the air, in a buoyant bounce
were hoards of bees lifting mighty trees
how does logic defy my blinking eyes
when my mind bends simple thoughts
    into such beguiling lies?

But rather than cast doubt on my delirous mind
i laughed aloud and straddled my window sill
stepping onto clouds like stepping stones
i buzzed with purple and pink stripped bumble bees
then we took to climbing those floating trees.
