Raja's Insight 
the last women
on earth
is taking a bath
in Lake Anza
In Tilden park
she had gone
for her usual morning
horse back ride
looking for survivors
riding through the Cal Campus
up through the hills
over to Orinda
and back
so far
three months
after the Russian Bioplague
had wiped out all
of humanity
she was it
the last woman on earth
and she was approaching
menopause
if she did not meet
a surviving male
that would be it
for the human race
she finished her bath
got back on the horse
and rode into Berkeley
to check her bulletin board
posted outside of Peets coffee
nothing
she went in
that was her house
nowadays
checked the bulletin board
checked the internet
checked the radio
no messages
nothing
and poured herself
a cup of coffee
at least she would not
run out of coffee
as long as the power
remained on
