In the end it was another woman that stole him away. She was carefree and a little wild. Her eyes held onto the wonder and excitement of everything she saw, moving her to the rhythm of the wind and carrying him away, distracted and longing.
She stood no chance of ever reaching him the way this other could so deeply and profoundly at his soul’s level.
No, in the end she was no match for the ghost of who she once was in his eyes.
