The Silence of Envy by William Wright, Jr.

All the best

For her bountiful days

As she steamrolls poised

From shore to shore

All the very best

For whom she seeks

Housed in their valor

And forged in dismay

And yet the shadows

Lurk, in each rose-laden verse

I dispense

Bitter-cold and false

All the very best

Rings, untrue

Withered and trite

The disdain

I silently bear
