Barefooted she walks,

carrying the weight of the world in her womb

Striped of her impurities,

each and every step she took

She walked the beating path of indiscretion,

her heart is racing with each and every step

Her self-worth gave way to the wind long ago,

She pushes forward to forget

Step after step,

burying the past; with each foot forward

Fighting her own inner demons

on her journey along the way

Until that which is dark,

becomes light

Belief in self,

washes away the broken tears

She is awakened,

and now understands . .

Beneath the roof of her soul
