How do we tell
The story of our lives?
With a thousand pictures
Behind our eyes?
What words define
The steps we take to our graves?
Does the drumming
Of our heartbeat tap out
The rhythm of our pain?
As time washes through us
Like leaves in the Autumn rain
We ride the tide and
Know that as the story ends,
So does its narrator.

I was born and grew up in a small town in Oklahoma. Eventually I escaped to Kansas where I met the love of my life with whom I’ve been with for 25 years. We currently reside in Overland Park with three cats, my neglected poetic children, and this raccoon puppet. All in all, it is a good life!
