Where is the closeness we shared
when our lives reconnected
Fresh and new with excitement sprinkled
all around
Not enough words to express our emotions
overflowing and relentless
Trading breaths and hyperventilating
Over wanting to meet again
Here we are now
Disheartened and broken
What in the hell happened
Distance and disconnection
have taken hold
Different views and points on
how we see
Our stubbornness has taken us
to another place
Far from where we began
As we contemplate our coming together
Be mindful of the focus we must share
Hard work and diligence to learn about and be
there for one another
To be touched again by the energy of when we
first became aware of our presence as a couple
Coming to peace with the Father
Will bring us to a better place of
Love for each other
