The Rich Earth
The rich Earth
Dark black and brown
Sifts through fingers
The substance of possibility
Precious and receiving
The sun is jealous
The sky envious
And the moon covets
They bluster brightly
And immature
But the rich Earth
Dark black and brown
Lays patient
Never denying
Judging nothing
Not even the heavens
In the midst
Of their childish rage

About the Author
I’m a California native and live in the mountains with my fiancé and two cats. I’ve also been known to engage in art and music; two of my other endeavors, but my foundation is language, written, read, spoken or sung. If I ever had a tombstone, which I won’t, maybe it could simply say…” Wordsmith.”
