The Internet is a wonderful thing – a place to reach anyone worldwide and share your talents, whether on social media or your own blog page. But there is a dark side to the web that many are unaware of.

You will get the usual trolls who have nothing better to do than try to start an argument, but there are also people scouring sites to steal and plagiarize your work.

I had this happen on one of my social media accounts and requested a user to remove a photo of me from his website that he used for his poetry, and he refused. I ended up blocking him from seeing my page and reported him, but since he was from an international location, there wasn’t much I could do. So now on all my sites, I put a disclaimer that all my work is copyrighted and can be shared…
