Drifting Away

Building sandcastles that are on display
Oblivious to it all remaining intoxicated all day
Worshiping and paying homage to inanimate objects
Running of the gossip mill, politics, religion, and sports amongst the many subjects
Temptation seems to be looming with each choice made
Should one gain notoriety or just plain fade?
Materialism and consumerism completes this dysfunctional family
No sense of awareness in this not so complex calamity
What happened to respect of elders and sense of community
Peace and family should be the chief priority
