MicroPoetry One Word Challenge: DEVOURED
BURN:
Standing at the old white stove
she was swaying
to the music
playing in her head
probably Hall & Oates.
After all these years
I still feel that special swell
in my heart
my hands encircle her waist.
Her quick intake of breath
as she leans into me
is as seductive
as our wedding day.
Turning her around
my hands brush the golden strands away
caressing her beautiful face
mindless of life’s lines
that now adorn it.
Drawing her near
I touch her lips
with mine
all else is muted
as I am devoured
by her passion.
Come my love
let supper wait
while we burn.
