Tears of Alone
I wait.
Just me and the moonlight.
Wondering if you’re coming home.
It’s late.
The clock strikes two times.
Still there is no ringing of the phone.
That’s okay, babe.
I’ve been there before.
Pain is a friend of old.
And like the thousand eyes
Of the night.
My star is distant and cold.
I’m catching the tears of alone.
I walk.
The streets of the city.
Just another masquerade.
They talk.
I really don’t hear them.
False emotions on parade.
Like actors on stage
In the play of my life.
I’ve seen faces come and go.
And though I have touched
A few of those hearts,
I’m still catching the tears of alone.
I’m catching the tears of alone.
I feel the love but I just can’t start.
Catching the tears of alone.
I hold the walls, still they fall apart.
I’m catching the tears of alone.
These words are the only one
Who will hold my heart.
