Excerpt from “Poems Of Redemption” by Author Olawale Famodun
Yours Unconditionally
Whether you fold the weather in your arms
Or make the honeyed singing brooks to twinge;
Whether you disregard your dashing charms
Or your beauty,
with insults,
you did swinge;
Whether with brown,
once blue skies you suffuse,
Or let the stars out-glow your sultry eyes;
Whether ill perfume the air you perfuse
Or sicken romance with some blatant lies;
Whether you idly watch restive goatherd
Melodizing âneath a spreading beech tree,
Than have concern for me as a songbird
Who sadly wallow alone on a lea;
Iâm adjudged your slave, and you mine mistress,
Whether in mine glory or mine distress.
