I Respect Your Wish
I respect your wish, our affair is over,
It floats away on the wind like a dove’s lost feather,
You are right, sweetness, we spoil the best love affairs,
By trying to make them last forever,
It was a hot fire but it has run it’s course,
While the music still plays,
Will you dance with me, just one last waltz?
Once more around the floor,
And like before, will you hold me so close?
Once more will you share a kiss and let me savor it’s taste?
And let my hands slip just a little south of your waist?
Once more let me drink in the smell of your jet black hair,
And just one more time as we dance,
Will you lock eyes with mine, and helplessly stare?
I respect your wish, our affair is over,
Once more, sweetness, let us dance together,
My eyes closed, you in my arms,
Resting your head upon my shoulder.
