They give me a blanket, a bowl of soup and let me sleep on the auditorium floor on cold winter nights. This is like paradise compared to some of the places I have been – holes of mud with days of pouring rain waiting for the Calvary to come – at war in the desert with the sun blistering my skin and where water was rationed as needed – and drunk in the sewers sitting next to mutant rats feasting on rotten meat. They tell me this place is all they have to offer – this is luxury for me.
