One day maybe
The counter-production
Begged for by compressed nerves
Will sail away on calm waters.
Maybe relief will breathe into
The tense cables that cobweb
My frame like those of dark
Attic corners.
Maybe I can exhale freedom finally.
Maybe one day strength will plant
A foot upon the fallen and raise
A fist to the sky.
But for now, small victories
Will have to do.
