Long Division by Veronica Thornton

Racism, classism, ageism, feminism

all the isms are their own forms of prison

Divisions are promoted by classifications

deemed necessary to keep hate pulsating

through various nations true diversity

does not breed adversity

acceptance of one another is really the key

many are manipulated to prevent unity from happening

yet you refuse to see through their cultural history

that they constantly impose on you and me

clearly shows their thirst for dominancy

claiming to explore distant shores that were existent before

disrespecting the lands claiming all that they can

exploiting those locally,

while claiming it will help globally

further spreading division to all

that adhere to their decisions

never understanding the law of reciprocity

they will utilize their own economic philosophy

proclaiming it’s for democracy

one day they will realize

that the pendulum swings both ways

that’s why they are desperately clinging to the old days

amazed you will be when you realize

they are no longer the real majority

all you have to do is combine all the so called minorities

in every category

a tactic that sounds drastic

but they know it could be catastrophic

locations are a matter of semantics

yet we live in a prison of isms

created by a system insistent on division

of every kind except humanism.
