The Fallen by Keith Forsythe

Mind torn, nightmares rage

Battles won and lost, replaying constantly

Brothers falling in bizarre positions

Surprise or disbelief on pale faces

Decades of rending pain

Assail my screaming soul

Things half remembered rearing up

Superimposed, making a surreal view

Kneeling, my arms around her waist

Eyes closed tightly wet with tears

Her hand stroking my head

As she gently croons love

In words that don’t matter

Her love a healing balm

I have found a haven

I have found an angel

Peace finally in sight

She saved my heart and soul

My Lady faire
