Inspiration Call: Let your eyes be the camera

Think of your eyes as the lens and capture what you see in this poetry challenge. Whether on vacation or just going to work…pick a particular scene of the day and write about it.

Publishing Opportunity: At the end of every year we will publish an anthology using our daily inspiration calls. Want to participate? Simply write your interpretation of the photo that inspires you and share it in the comment section of the original post right here on our blog. You will be notified here also, should your work be chosen for inclusion in the publication. We donate 100% of all proceeds from our anthologies to the Starving Artist Fund. 1. soaring
    above the sands
    and the grey-blue sea
    falling into place
    moving in sweet communion
    alive in the moment
    following divine direction
are they really free as they seem to be
    do they truly know freedom
    in a line of conformity

    my heart joins them
    seeking that sweet communion
    accepted in the flock
    belonging to all
    a part of the whole
yet one alone with the Creator

    above the sands
    and the grey-blue sea

  2. Blond Woman Searching for Last Safe Place

    A solitary blond woman
    Wearing a blue coat
    And dark pants
    And a yellow bag

    Is walking down
    A lonely country road
    Heading towards
    A college campus

    Lost in thought
    As the world continues
    To fall apart

    All around her
Echoes of the dying of the light
    The dying of civilization

    She had to get away
    From all of that
    And so she fled
    To what would be
    Perhaps the last safe place
    On earth
