Fall Into Winter by Tracy Seiden

The night wraps around her in blue velvet memories, the stars sparkling in her hair, a halo of crystal snowflakes.  The world spins forward, November settling into its rhythm as the trees turn from red and gold to copper and brown. Dancing whirlwinds of leaves kiss the ground as frost begins to creep over the grass. She can feel the shadows shifting, the cold stealing down from the north to hover, a frozen wish whispered over a park side fountain.

She is in her element here, commanding the winds and frost to paint her best stories in delicate crystal on his window for him to see when the sun breaks the night’s spell in morning light.

His sunlit face washes over the crisp late autumn landscape.  He waves his hand and sunbeams filter through the early morning mist dissolving the shadows and shine through his window so delicately painted with her story. As the sun slowly warms the ground and melts her words into him through the frosted glass sending rainbows of refracted light through the running ice crystals, his smile illuminates the sky and dawn breaks once more.
