Land of the Sorceress Queen by Hugh Dysart

In another time, another place,

with another name, another face

Golden skies, emerald streams,

Land of the Sorceress Queen

When musical magic fills the air,

sleeping quills wake inspiration

A raven’s feather, draws and traces,

fallen angels with Tarot card faces

Camel tracks to Constantinople,

when time was told in sand

Wisemen smoke and pray

to the opium of Old Cathay

Smoking cauldrons, spells, potions,

heat waves, twisting mirage cities

Caravans pass over foreign lands,

worlds collide under shifting sands

She forever watches, never speaks,

spinning moons on her fingertips

Her breath the wind,

her tears the salty sea

Her hand, the hand of God

Abraham plays at her feet,

Satan feeds from her breast

Blessing the cursed

Cursing the blessed

Land of the Sorceress Queen
