The lost best friend
From childhood I thought,
We shared many fears;
We loved and we fought.
She disappeared
Not sure where sheâs gone
It didnât last

So hard to believe.

Friendships that end;

I don’t understand,
For she stayed away;
Itâs out of my hands.
The lost friendship

She made that choice,

I tried;
She left me no voice.

Ana M. Torres also known as A.M. Torres is the author of the book Turmoil, and a few other publications. She was born in New York City, and is the third youngest of seven children. She grew up in Brooklyn, but currently lives in Staten Island with Walter Lewis, and is also the mother of two boys, Jason and Kristofer.
