Like a candle in the night
your smile is so bright
yet so ephemeral
I nestle in your warmth
knowing it will expire soon
and I’d face the cold again
Oh please spread your flame
thaw the ice forming
around my heart
Don’t let the winds of gossip
shake it or extinguish it
but burn even more fiercely
