May never know what happened to my daughter
That the possible charge could have been manslaughter
But the case is still unsolved
Difficult not knowing who was involved
Was just getting to know her and share
She had a zest for life and flair
Poetry was a part of her life and is part of mine
Writing these words will make her shine
It is a tribute to who she was and the effect on me
Continuing to form the man I am to be
The circumstances then was out of my immaturity
of not being with the Father
Doing my own thing and it wasn’t even a bother
Denying the right to embrace the wrong
Inviting the sin to come along
Not in her life for a very long time
Her mother did a great job of raising her so beautifully to her prime
Carried around the guilt of not being there
and realized that I had been forgiven
So scribing this piece I will always be driven
To honor and love the memory of her,
Taylor Rose

Daddy, that was beautiful and I know Taylor would be proud. At least for a little while a bond was created and questions answered. Taylor lives in through God and your words!

Nolan love your transparency in this poem. Thank you for sharing this with me. Would love for you to talk to the kids where I volunteer about poetry and how it has given you an outlet to vent and heal.

My apologies about the post to Nolan. I appreciate the fact you featured a male poet. I would like to have more young men to get involved with poetry to help them connect with their inner self.
