Remember I was strong,
Then suddenly got sick.
I felt alone and scared,
Walked through thin and thick.
My friends said they’d be here,
My family feared the worst,
It was those that left me,
That made my spirit burst.
I counted on support,
An empathetic ear,
A shoulder to lie down on,
With someone who could hear.
Advice, given freely,
From all that came to call,
But when I needed help
What happened to you all?
I walk this path alone,
I’ve learned it’s all on me,
Now that I need no one,
My heart hurts, but it’s free.
Listen to me closely,
You’re stronger than you think.
New souls will come running,
To replace those that stink.
Hold your head up proudly,
You’re sick and nothing more.
Angels that you have now
Came through your sickness door.
