Green
Deep in the forest
A place that I go to
Where I can be comforted
And not so lonely
The forest holds me
And it’s green
When I return
From a trip to the forest
I feel I’ve been transformed
Not knowing how
The forest holds me
And it’s green
Inside the forest
There’s so many animals
All of them wild
All quite protective
The forest holds me
And it’s green
Deep in the forest
The trees are like monuments
Shading the day
Some sky slips through the leaves
The forest holds me
I like green

About the Author
Hi Everyone! Still hanging in the hills writing poems, short stories, and the novel I’ve been working on forever. It’s coming though slow but sure. I’ve been writing since I learned to and it’s always been with me for support and therapy. This is an older poem but one of my favorites. Hope you enjoy!
