For just one day,
Let it please be gone.
The pain is relentless,
Nobody’s this strong.
I pray to be numb,
My emotions are dull,
The booze and drugs
Have taken them all.
The pain is still here,
It seeps through the cracks,
My energy wanes,
I’m under attack.
Where is my hope?
Where is that light?
In the middle of darkness,
Heart races with fright.
Somebody save me,
I scream from within,
But the poisonous pain
Still crawls through my skin.
